EMEA Compliance Officer
Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated EMEA Compliance Officer to join our regional compliance team at ContiTech. In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening our culture of integrity and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and internal policies across the EMEA region.
You will act as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting compliance risk management, delivering training initiatives, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our global compliance framework.
Key Tasks / Responsibilities
Compliance Advisory & Risk Mitigation
- Provide practical, business-oriented advice on compliance matters, including: Business ethics, Antitrust / competition law, Corruption prevention, Data privacy, Artificial intelligence governance, Anti-money laundering and fraud
- Assess compliance risks and support proactive mitigation measures in close collaboration with Compliance leadership.
- Advise local teams and business units on AI-related topics, including strategy, implementation, and governance in line with regulatory requirements.
Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver engaging compliance training programs across the region (eLearning, virtual, and in-person formats).
- Create and maintain high-quality training materials to raise awareness and prevent compliance risks.
- Track and report training participation and effectiveness
Reporting & Documentation
- Collect and report compliance-related data to Group Compliance leadership, including statistics on advice provided, communication reach, contractual support (e.g., Data Processing Agreements), and training participation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of compliance activities and ensure timely reporting of relevant metrics.
Program Development & Support
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Support global initiatives such as Policy updates, Cross-functional projects and Training development
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate compliance risks associated with business strategy and operations.
- Collaborate with Global Compliance and regional counterparts to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years professional experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory functions, preferably in an international environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant EMEA regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance.
- Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Strategic mindset with attention to detail.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global matrix organization.
- Experience with Compliance AI use cases is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
