Job Description: Finance & Accounting assistant

1. Role Purpose

To ensure accurate financial accounting, statutory compliance, effective reporting, and support business profitability by maintaining transparent books, ensuring adherence to corporate governance guidelines, and supporting internal/external stakeholders.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. General Ledger & Fixed Assets
- Post and review journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Perform periodic account reconciliations and trial balance review.
- Manage fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and asset roll-forward reporting.

B. Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process supplier invoices and ensure 3-way match compliance.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and support GR/IR clearing.
- Perform vendor reconciliations and aged payable reviews.
- Coordinate payment runs, T&E reviews, and related reconciliations.

C. Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare customer invoices, credit/debit notes, and GST invoices.
- Conduct overdue follow-up, customer reconciliation, and cash application.
- Support dunning, write-off procedures, and AR-related audit activities.

D. Compliance, Governance & Statutory Requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal corporate policies, tax laws, and IFRS/local GAAP standards.
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, and documentation archiving.
- Assist in statutory filings (e.g., VAT/GST returns, levy submissions).

- Budget and Forecasting, also managing Government Income Tax and GST audits

E. Forex allocation, travel/expense reimbursement, invoice payments etc for Bangalore team

F. Knowledge and experience of managing transfer pricing,

G. Support custom clearance topics by working closely with vendors.

Qualifications

3. Requirements

Key Skills
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP FI/CO.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/local GAAP and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.

- Good communication and collaboration skills

- Team player

4. Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in accounting/finance operations (GL/AP/AR)
  • Experience working with auditors, tax authorities, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with internation stakeholders and with MNCs
  • Sound knowledge and experience with Finance topics
  • Working experience in global hub is a plus

5. Qualifications

Education
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- CA/Inter CA/CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
