Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Communications (m/f/diverse). In this global leadership role, you will lead and shape all internal and external communication activities of ContiTech as a strategic enabler of business performance, transformation, and brand value.

The role drives a consistent and compelling narrative across all stakeholder groups, strengthens the company’s global reputation, and ensures alignment with strategic priorities, values, and performance ambitions.

In a future private equity ownership context, this role will place a strong focus on value creation, brand positioning, transparency, and speed of execution, supporting the company’s transformation journey and equity story.

Key responsibilities:

Communication Strategy & Transformation

  • Define and drive the global communication strategy aligned with business priorities, transformation initiatives, and value creation goals
  • Lead change and transformation communication across the organization
  • Support the private equity story and performance narrative
  • Ensure high levels of transparency, speed, and consistency in communication

Brand Building & Implementation

  • Develop and implement a strong, differentiated global brand positioning
  • Ensure consistent brand activation across all internal and external channels
  • Drive measurable impact on reputation

Internal Communication & Leadership Alignment

  • Lead global internal communication to strengthen employee engagement and alignment
  • Enable effective leadership communication, particularly during periods of change

External Communication, Media & Public Affairs

  • Manage all external communication activities, including media relations and digital channels
  • Shape company positioning externally
  • Oversee public affairs to support strategic interests and stakeholder engagement

Governance & Performance Management

  • Define and lead the global communications operating model, including governance and processes
  • Ensure consistency, efficiency, and measurable impact of communication activities

Leadership & Organization

  • Lead a global communications organization (12 direct reports), fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative work environment
  • Manage communication budgets
  • Collaborate with business areas and functions across ContiTech to ensure consistent messaging

Executive Advisory & Crisis Communication

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
  • Anticipate reputational risks and lead crisis communication

AI Transformation & Communication Excellence

  • Drive the adoption of AI-enabled communication tools and data-driven approaches to enhance effectiveness
  • Continuously evolve communication formats, channels, and ways of working to increase impact and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading international teams
  • Demonstrated track record in strategic communication, transformation, and reputation management
  • Strong expertise in media relations, crisis communication, and digital communication platforms
  • Ability to connect communication strategies with business impact and value creation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences
  • Strong affinity for AI-driven communication tools and data-driven approaches
  • Experience in complex stakeholder environments, including public affairs
  • Demonstrated ability to combine results orientation with empathy and leadership presence
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), German language skills are a plus
