Product and Process Industrialization (PPI) Engineer - BA IAM

Job Description

The Product and Process Industrialization (PPI)  Engineer - BA IAM - (SAP, Time Studies, Molds and Tooling) is a critical role, responsible to establish & roll out reliable product and process industrialization processes for the BA, including coordination of all related activities to achieve budget and production targets (e.g. support scrap reduction and waste, improvement of cycle times, first pass yield). Furthermore, the PPI Engineer initiates and implements action plans for continuous improvement, cost savings of all product and process industrialization relevant aspects of production in IAM Plants.

Product Industrialization & Process Industrialization

▪ Manage product specific ramp-up or change projects (e.g. team setup, interfacing to business / customer organization, project planning and control, etc.) for e.g. new raw materials or new / relocated production processes.
▪ Ensure deployment and maintenance of standarts related to production control plan requirements by BA (in close cooperation with Quality) according to standards provided by PD Material Processing Engineering and Sector.
▪ Ensure maintenance of template process FMEA and ensure proper implemetnation by the BA Plants as needed according to conditions and standards.

Product and Process Improvement

▪Support time study analysis of manufacturing processes to identify standard time inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
▪Support the planning of investments for projects and specialized tooling/devices (e.g., molds, mandrels, jigs, and gauges).
▪ Drive production processes optimization regarding quality, efficiency and capability based on data and in cooperation with ME.
▪ Support proactive solving of quality issues regarding customer complaints and reject rate (in close cooperation with Q)

SAP Interaction

▪Manage SAP PP master data. (BOMs, work centers, routings, and production versions.)
▪Ensure data consistency and support the creation and maintenance of BOMs, routings, and MRP data to enable accurate planning and execution.
▪Support system improvements, testing activities, and implementation of new SAP functionalities across IAM.
▪Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances across plants to identify improvement opportunities.

Standardization

▪ Drive regional implementation of product and process industrialization standards
▪ Provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding product and process industrialization processes (e.g. definition of production parameters, production flow plans, production control plans and work instructions, etc.), product and process industrialization IT tools (e.g. FMEA software) to Sector.
▪Develop and maintain PPI governance documents, guidelines, and templates in conjuction with Sector
▪Ensure global standards are applied for molds and tooling.
▪Ensure alignment between global standards and plant execution.

Monitoring and Reporting

▪ Execute product and process industrialization performance (KPI) monitoring and reporting (e.g. regarding cost, lead time, quality of product and process industrialization activities such as ramp-up projects).
▪ Implement measures to improve product and process industrialization performance.

Training and Coaching

▪ Ensure the continous development of PPI employees in the Plants by coaching, sharing of knowledge, cross Plant lessons learned.

Qualifications

▪University degree: in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline

▪5 years of professional experience with 3 or more years of professional experience in various process engineering functions
▪Cross-functional experience e.g. in engineering, quality, production or CBS preferred.

▪Comprehensive knowledge and experience in SAP system, BOMs, Routings and Time Studies

▪Comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes and ramp-up projects.

▪ Leadership and / or Project Management experience preferred

▪Strong Communication skills

▪ Experience in working with international teams on production topics and understanding of foreign cultures

▪ Proficient in minimum 2 languages, English is mandatory

▪ Flexibility to travel 30-40% annually
