Traffic Analyst SLPZ

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Traffic Analyst to join our transportation team in San Luis Potosí City, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing traffic patterns, monitoring congestion, and providing data-driven insights to optimize traffic flow and improve urban mobility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently with complex datasets to support strategic traffic management decisions.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret traffic data from various sources including sensors, cameras, and traffic management systems
• Monitor real-time traffic conditions and identify congestion patterns, incidents, and anomalies
• Prepare comprehensive traffic reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders
• Develop traffic flow optimization recommendations based on analytical findings
• Maintain and update traffic databases and ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Collaborate with transportation planners, engineers, and municipal departments to support traffic management initiatives
• Conduct statistical analysis on traffic trends and seasonal variations
• Identify opportunities for traffic system improvements and operational efficiency
• Document methodologies and maintain organized records of analysis and findings
• Support the development of traffic management strategies for the San Luis Potosí region

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience in traffic analysis, transportation planning, or related field
• Proficiency in traffic analysis software and tools
• Strong statistical analysis and data interpretation skills
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
• Solid understanding of traffic management principles and urban transportation systems
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Knowledge of San Luis Potosí traffic infrastructure and local transportation systems (preferred)
• Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software (preferred)
• Familiarity with traffic simulation software such as VISSIM or similar tools (preferred)
• SQL or database query experience (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
