SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance Local Key User (Temporary Assignment)

Job Description

The Temporary Local Key User serves as the primary plant-based subject matter expert for maintenance processes during the SAP S/4HANA implementation project. This individual acts as the liaison between Maintenance, Operations, and the project team to ensure maintenance business processes are accurately represented, tested, documented, and successfully transitioned into the SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) module. The Local Key User provides expertise regarding current maintenance practices, supports system testing and training activities, assists with data validation, and champions change management efforts within the facility to support a successful project deployment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Business Process Support

• Represent plant maintenance operations throughout the SAP S/4HANA implementation project.
• Provide detailed knowledge of existing maintenance workflows, procedures, and business requirements.
• Participate in process design workshops and project meetings.
• Review proposed system configurations and identify potential impacts to maintenance operations.
• Assist in developing standardized maintenance processes aligned with SAP best practices. Testing & Validation
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and end-to-end process validation.
• Verify that maintenance transactions, notifications, work orders, preventive maintenance plans, and reporting functions operate as intended.

Data Migration & Data Quality

• Support validation of equipment master data, functional locations, bills of material, maintenance plans, and related PM data.
• Review converted data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in identifying and resolving data discrepancies prior to go-live.

Training & Change Management

• Serve as a change champion within the plant.
• Support development of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
• Deliver or assist with end-user training for maintenance personnel.
• Provide project updates and communicate process changes to stakeholders.

Go-Live & Hypercare Support

• Support cutover activities and go-live readiness efforts.
• Assist users with issue resolution during system implementation and stabilization.
• Escalate system or process concerns to the project team as appropriate.
• Provide feedback regarding opportunities for process improvements after implementation.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience working in plant maintenance, facilities maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related function.
• Strong understanding of maintenance work order processes and preventive maintenance activities.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), SAP ECC, or SAP S/4HANA.

Preferred

• Experience participating in ERP implementations, upgrades, or system migrations.
• Knowledge of manufacturing maintenance planning and asset management processes.
• Experience developing or delivering employee training.
