Onsite/Offsite Pressure Test Technician for ContiTech Oil & Marine, Corp. in Houston, TX
Job Description
The mission of the position is to perform hose management services for our customers in a timely and cost-effective manner, as well as supporting production in their objectives and performing production related activities. These objectives include but are not limited to assembly, testing, safety, quality, cost and delivery.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Tasks:
• perform full hose management service in accordance to company's processes & procedures
• perform hydrostatic pressure tests in accordance to company and third party procedures
• perform asset management projects per project specifications
• travel to customer sites to inspect and determine the suitability of flexible hose assemblies
• perform internal borescopic inspections utilizing video recording equipment
• perform external inspections determining the condition of flexible hose assemblies
• identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
• rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
• perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
• maintain adequate inventory of test fittings and other equipment necessary for both onsite and offsite hose management projects
• create, prepare, maintain, update documents related to hose management service performed
• ensure that expenditures related to each projects are maintained
• perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• follow regular production plan to meet customer's delivery requirements• read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
• utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun and/or power tools such as grinders, sandblasters, drills and various types of saws
• maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring rigorous housekeeping standards are maintained
• adhere to all ContiTech policies and procedures as laid out in the company handbook
• adhere to and carry out all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements as outlined in the Company Policies
• carry out any reasonable task as requested by the production team lead or production manager
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in field, preferably with flexible fluid transfer products
• Basic English written and communication skills are required
• Ability to operate High and Low-Pressure Pumps, Hydrostatic Pumps, High Torque Wrenches, Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Forklifts, and Rigging
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as height gauges, adjustable parallels, calipers and pressure gauges
• Ability to use personal computer and/or workstation
• Valid driver license and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business;
• RigPass certification is a plus, but not required
Work Environment: Shop environment. Works in confined workspaces. Frequent exposure to possible shop hazards including heavy equipment, chemicals, flash burns, UV exposure, hot parts, eye injuries, high pressure and high noise levels. 90% of time is spent on the shop floor or in outdoor areas.
Personal requirements to be fulfilled by job holder: Able to travel when needed, team player but able to work on own initiative, ability to meet deadlines even under pressure, reliability, good communicator, strong attention to detail, assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of hand held and/or power tools. Demonstrates good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
Physical Demands: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, push, pull, grasp, or reach with hands and arms and talk or hear and perform repetitive motions. Dexterity of hands to perform the tasks required of the position. Regularly lift and/or move moderate to heavy objects up to 60 lbs, occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch or crawl. Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time. Sight in order to be aware of hazards and dangers found in the nature of the work.
