Head of Quality Management APAC
Job Description
Steering quality and technical compliance management and improvements in APAC region, and ensure product and process developed and produced according to the defined standards to meet and exceed customers' and market expectations.
1.General Management and Strategy
• Lead and coordinate Quality Management activities across all SSL APAC plants and entities.
• Translate global SSL Quality & Technical Compliance strategy into regional objectives and action plans.
• Act as the regional quality counterpart for APAC management and key functions.
• Manage and coordinate all quality management and LAB activities for APAC region
• Colaborate with other regions for lessons learned and best practise sharing
• Ensure Supplier Quality is effectively managed.
2. Operational Quality & Performance
• Define and steer regional and plant‑specific quality KPIs (e.g. PPM, NQC, incidents).
• Monitor quality performance and deploy corrective and preventive improvement measures.
• Coordinate quality reviews and approvals for product and process changes in series production.
• Drive prevention‑focused quality methods and robust problem‑solving across operations.
3.Customer Quality Management
• Manage and coordinate customer quality management activities for JV
• Ensure effective customer quality management, including complaint handling and escalation.
• Act as escalation level for major customer quality topics in the APAC region.
4.New Project Quality Planning
• Manage and coordinate new product development quality management activities APAC
• Ensure quality planning standards and process implemented and improved based on the demanding from customer and buiness needed
• Monitor new product development projects status and support to solve the problem happened with project.
5. Organization & Resources
• Lead and develop regional quality teams, including plant quality managers.
• Set objectives, promote capability development, and support succession planning.
• Manage regional Quality Management budgets and cost centers.
• Drive efficiency through standardization, digital tools, and best‑practice sharing.
6.Quality Governance & Compliance
• Ensure implementation and adherence to global SSL Quality Management Systems and standards.
• Safeguard technical compliance of products and processes according to internal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure alignment between local APAC requirements and global SSL rules.
• Coordinate and follow up on internal and external audits.
• Ensure that the content of own work complies with the requirements of national laws, regulations and local rules and regulations, and meets the requirements of relevant systems, including but not limited to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, TISAX, PIPL, etc.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree or above; chemical engineering prefered
2. Expert knowledges in Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS 16949 / IATF 16949, VDA, customer requirements) , Q-Methods (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Six Sigma), Process improvement tools like root cause analysis, A3, 8D, PDCA, Yokoten
3. Advanced knowledges in Automotive and Industry Market and Plant Operations Management
4. Consequential years / long term Management experience preferably in Quality or Manufacturing
Preferred several years working as a Plant Quality Manager
5. Broad functional work experience including operations; Customer and Supplier communication experience
6. Strong leadership skills (team skills, conflict, management, networking)
7. Experience with intercultural communication (eg. internally across locations)
